Logistics Park A6 Put in Commission
Having invested more than 20 million euros, real estate developer Pillar Capital, AS, has put in commission one of the biggest and most modern logistics centres in Riga – A6 Logistics Park at 462 Maskavas St.
Construction works at the new logistics park were started in July 2020, having built a logistics and warehouse complex with more than 30 000 m² of new warehouse spaces and amounting to total 50 000 m² of premises at the territory.
A6 is the first logistics park in Latvia, for which BREEAM sustainability standards were implemented as early as design stage. The buildings were constructed in accordance with the highest international energy efficiency standards, using construction materials produced with the same high sustainability principles. Currently the complex is in the process of BREEAM certification which is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.
As A6 Logistics Park is put in commission, the new premises are about to be occupied by the first tenants. The demand is high for these premises, which is proven by the active interest of tenants in them – almost all premises have already found their tenants. The warehouse buildings offer also A-class office rooms with modern ventilation and air conditioning solutions, which will significantly improve the work environment for the employees. The territory of the complex also offers convenient parking, including some electric vehicle charging stations and a spacious bicycle parking with a roof for convenience of the employees.
“We are proud to be completing the logistics park project according to schedule – in less then 18 months, due to professional and efficient work of the team. It is also good news for our tenants, who are eager to start running their business in modern infrastructure. Large logistics complexes are valuable not only because they create millions of euros of investments and more jobs, but also because they carry out other functions important for the development of the city”, says Edgars Miļūns, CEO of Pillar Capital, AS.
Logistics Park is located in Rumbula, one of Riga’s industrial neighbourhoods, right next to A6 highway, which is a major city transportation route. That area in Rumbula, between Maskavas St., and the railway lines fits perfectly for development of logistics parks due to convenient access from the city centre and other major state highways A4, A5 and A7. The logistics park is also easy to access by public transport, including railway.
General contractor of the project was Pillar Contractor, SIA, which provided also design works for A6 Logistics Park.
